Celebrating the Best in Precast Project Excellence - Shortlisted

This category recognises precast and masonry manufacturers’ contributions to the nation’s critical infrastructure and towering stadiums. Each has found innovative solutions to deliver not just the best product but the right installation solutions for massive projects in challenging locations. The category also looks to reward sustainable construction practices and the embrace of digital technologies. The shortlisted projects are showcased below for Best Use of Precast in Infrastructure.

Banagher Precast: Everton Stadium

Banagher supplied specialist precast stadium bowl components for Everton’s new Hill Dickinson Stadium, including its innovative Double-Step Terracing system. The lighter, stiffer units reduced crane lifts, deliveries, concrete use and sealing requirements, helping deliver a safer, faster, lower-carbon and more durable waterfront venue at exceptional scale. Banagher Precast: Silvertown Tunnel

Banagher Precast Concrete supported the landmark Silvertown Tunnel project by manufacturing over 10,200 precision precast tunnel segments, bridge beams and Double-Tees. Through offsite production, low-carbon concrete mixes, digital coordination and innovative prop-less cross-passage segments, Banagher helped improve safety, reduce carbon, support programme certainty and contribute to the successful early completion of this nationally significant Thames crossing.

Brett Landscaping: Shed 8

Brett supplied 8,000m² of Zeta Lock interlocking block paving for Shed 8 at Avonmouth Dock, supporting heavy-duty steel coil storage operations. Its high-performance 16-sided system withstands crane loads, plant movement and dynamic forces, while Brett’s technical input and logistics planning helped deliver durability, confidence and programme certainty.

Ibstock: FlowPit

Ibstock developed FlowPit, a precast concrete sump unit addressing drainage durability problems in rail and heavy-duty environments. Supplied in multiple practical configurations, it captures silt and debris, uses an 80% GGBS low-carbon mix, meets Network Rail requirements and offers a robust, tested 100-year alternative to GRP products.

Thorp Precast: Colne Valley Viaduct

Thorp Precast manufactured and transported 1,500 UHPFRC parapet units for HS2’s Colne Valley Viaduct, the UK’s longest railway bridge. The slim, durable elements reduced mass, concrete use and deliveries while retaining acoustic performance, with precise moulds, colour control and bespoke logistics supporting an elegant infrastructure landmark.
